My First Show
This summer I had the opportunity to spread some of my work out on and host some people to come and look around. I was so encouraged and flattered by the people who came on a hot Thursday night just for me. It was truly one of the most wonderful evenings and I learned a lot about selling art off the floor.
Not all of my work is pictured from the show but here are some pieces!
I feel like this is a fitting one to lead with. I am not usually particularly sentimental with all of my work but this one I love. If you had the opportunity to read my home page, you would have learned about my love for beauty.
This piece was inspired by my grandmother. She was always quick to notice beautiful things and bring them to everyone’s attention. That was one of my favorite things about her. We would go on hikes, I would huff and puff and complain and she would point out every stream, butterfly, or flower that caught her eye.
I want to do that. I love the feeling I have when staring at a beautiful landscape or a captivating piece of art or a well made, intricate piece of clothes; the list goes on. I am thankful that my grandmother taught me how to look for and appreciate beauty, whatever it may look like.
EVENT PLANNING PROJECTS
EVENT PLANNING PROJECTS
I had the opportunity to be the Design Executive for Chi Omega for two years in a row. Elected by my peers, I led a team of girls that helped me execute the plans that designs I had been preparing the months in advance. The planning and designing aspect of this role I really enjoyed, but I also grew a lot from the leadership and delegating aspect of the position.
In this position, I uniquely decorated the inside of the house for all three rounds of Recruitment, Philanthropy, Sisterhood, and Preference, and decorated both inside and out for Bid Day.
Below is the main event of the job, Bid Day.
Bid Day this year was “All Roads Lead Home.” This one was especially fun because when Texas A&M Chi Omega first started at A&M their theme was always roadtrip. We meshed modern themes of roadtrips with the vintage and classic vibe, to highlight the fact that one thing remains true, Chi O’s do it best.
The prior year we went with “Sweet Home Chi Omega.” The recruitment chair only requested that I go over the top, so that is what I aimed to do!
Lindsey Fish Music!
Let me take a minute to BRAG! One of my best friends is a musician and while I figure out where to land in the art world, she is finding her place in the music world!
I have had the opportunity to do some of her marketing and design as she starts to get her name out there. Below is some of my recent work with her that we have done in preparation for her big concert she has coming up in March! Go check her out on Spotify hah!
Lastly, I had the opportunity to individually paint each of these wedding invitations. I had not done anything like this but I really enjoyed bringing her vision to life!
